Snow: Loud, talkative, and always joking around
Vash: Meek, soft-spoken, and generous

Snow: A lot of her personality was actually based around my own because in the early days of Eldarya she wasn't mean to be a completely separate OC. When I did decide to turn her into an actual OC, I just expanded from what was originally there.
Vash: He was actually a character I made for an RP back on MCL long time ago and was meant to be a villain to another OC of mine. This means his early personality was way more extreme than he is now and there was nothing cute about him. I later amended himself quite a bit when he became the star of another RP, which never took off so I decided to bring him over here and again he underwent a few small changes to fit into the Eldarya-verse.

Daehan: His story was originally inspired by Vash's own background, and so in some ways, he was meant to be a foil to Vash.

Snow: Look at all sides of the equation and choose what is reasonably best.Vash: He kind's of impulsive so he would probably go with his gut reaction.Daehan: Go along with what is best for everyone/what he believes everybody would want. 
✗ If your OC could learn to ride a dragon, would they? Would they be any good at it?Snow: Probably once for the experience, but other than if there was some sort of dragon cavalry, she would be done with that one time. Vash: He'd give it a try just 'cause. Daehan: Not likely unless he absolutely needed to.
✗ What is most likely to get your OC killed? (@Diamond)Snow: I feel like she would be too practical and emotionally-detached to let herself be killed so easily, but maybe the fact that she can be very transparent with her actions or that she doesn't deal very well with spontaneity. Vash: His impulsiveness. Does before he thinks and that isn't always a smart plan of action.Daehan: Altruism. He's the type to save everyone before saving himself and/or sacrifice himself if necessary.

Snow: Personal relationship, obstacle to getting home, threat to everything she holds dear

Vash: In the way of achieving his happiness/a fulfilling life

Daehan: Corruption

Snow: Her name, duh.

Vash: Free cigarettes!!

Daehan: Anything about Vash because at this point the man's obsessed.

Snow: (1) Her personality will chase people away; (2) Cooking skills are basic at best; (3) Eye color because it's always been a reminder of her not belonging anywhere and left her questioning her identity; (4) That she's not particularly good at anything and was not gifted with any talent

Vash: (1) Feeling that he will always be second place in people's lives; (2) Speaking his native tongue because he doesn't use it as often as he did in the past; (3) That no one really wants him around and he's just a waste of space

Daehan: (1) At times his antlers because they occasionally put him in awkward situations; (2) Never being able to truly fit in anywhere; (3) Ending up alone

Snow: Her parents

Daehan: Probably anybody willing to spill that truth tea on him 

✗ The summer event is here! Describe what your OC would be like if they were a pirate?

Snow: Probably the first mate/quartermaster who would pick up all the crap that the captain is too lazy to do, essentially captain in all but name. Would run a tight ship, quick to put down fights, equally punish everybody who disobeys. Disliked by many for her strict ways despite only being second-in-command but also respected by many for her efficiency and penchant for getting shit done.

Vash: A rum-drinking, tobacco-smoking, shit-stirring pirate who would likely lead a mutineer, quickly find out he hates the responsibility of being leader, and then jump ship to go off looking for treasure himself.

Daehan: A humble crew mate who picks up everybody's slack. No one knows why he still chooses to remain on board when he's always admonishing the crew's penchant for violence and treasure-plundering attitudes. He's honestly only there for the adventure and to get away from the shit back home; all of that doesn't matter though because no one really listens to him anyway.

✗ What is your OC's full name? Is there a story behind it? (@Diamond)

Snow: Her parents wanted to give her a special snowflake name so they thought that Snowvella would be cute when really it just sounds weird. Her full name is important to her though so Snow never had it legally changed. In reality I never planned to make a guardian OC until after I chose my username and I compromised lol. Chinese name: Huang Xueying (literally 黄雪英 snow flower)
Vash: Name he goes by is Vash Asoraka. It's really just a mishmash of words and has no significant meaning; he just wanted to change his name after his mom's death. His birth name is Asakusa Kiyomasu (浅草清倍), Asakusa being his family/clan name and Kiyomasu being his uncle's name.
Daehan: No actual last name but his full name is technically Daehan of Baengnokdam. No meaning behind his first name but Baengnokdam (백녹담, literally 'white deer lake') is the name of the crater lake his tribe comes from. 

✗ Would your OC survive on a deserted island? 

Snow: For a little while she would do fine, but I don't think she'd do well in the long run. She doesn't have the necessary survival skills to live off the wilderness for a prolonged period of time.
Vash: Could probably last for awhile; he has decent survival skills but mentally speaking, he might not be able to stand it for long.
Daehan: Of my three OCs, he has the best survival skills because his people live off the land so he'd probably survive the longest.    

✗ What's one thing that other characters wish they could change about your character's personality?

Snow: Being standoffish
Vash: His need to be an ass to everybody for no reason
Daehan: His inability to sincerely open up and speak the truth

Snow: Her ex-fiancè Colin is at the top of her list for cheating on her. On a lesser scale, there's Miiko for being a horrible person, a horrible leader, and simply because she stands as the figurehead for Snow not being able to get back home.
Vash: No not really, but Daehan is slowly making his way up there.
Daehan: Vash, if that wasn't obvious yet.

✗ What is something your Guardian couldn't stand to lose?Snow: Anything that she wholeheartedly dedicates herself to. It would be such a huge waste of time and energy that she would never be able to fully comprehend why she got into it in the first place and be silently angry at herself over it.Vash: The people he's learned to trust/will learn to trust. He already has issues with this and it would be such a huge blow for him if he opened himself up to people only to lose them. He'd probably completely withdraw from human (in this case fae/faelian) contact if something like that were to happen.Daehan: His community/a place where he belongs. For most of his life, he's always had his community to support him and turn to and having that taken away from him was terrifyingly lonely. Now that he has an opportunity to return to that, he's determined not to lose it again. 
✗ How honest is your Guardian about their feelings? Do they share their emotions with others? (@Diamond)Snow: For the most part, she is pretty up front about her feelings. She hardly takes the effort to hide them as well, in part because she sucks at it. Sharing emotions, however, is a completely different story. Though you'll very clearly be able to see how she's feeling, she'd insist on being left alone to sort herself out.Vash: Denier all the way. Beyond anger, it's rare to see his more vulnerable side.Daehan: He's like Vash, but maybe even a bit worse. He's not here for feelings and he's going to push any emotions that may arise in his time on Eldarya far far away.
✗ (THROWBACK) What was your Guardian's favorite snack on their home planet? What's their favorite snack on Eldarya?Snow: Nuts, especially boiled peanuts, and jerky on Earth. I'm sure Eldarya has something similar as well. Vash: Generally anything sweet is fine. If not that, he has a thing for jerky as well.Daehan: Any kind of dried fruit or vegetable on both Earth and Eldarya.
✗ (THROWBACK) If your Guardian was a flavor of ice cream, what flavor would they be and why?(@Diamond)Snow: Mint chocolate chip. She can be very calm and cool like mint, but get to know her good enough and she can be as sweet as chocolate.Vash: Ginger. There's a bit of a spice to it that some people can never get used to, blended with a creamy, delicateness that will surprise you after the initial taste.Daehan: Red bean. Sweet, but not sickeningly so, just enough to leave behind a distinct taste in your mouth even after you've finished. Like the presence of the beans, there's something about him that's a bit distracting and not what you assumed but it's not entirely noticeable until you become more familiar with him. ✗ Your Guardian must chose between being able to hear what everyone around them is thinking at all times, or having everyone else hear what they are thinking at all times. Which do they pick and why? Snow: She'd easily pick having everyone hear what she's thinking. She's honest enough in her day to day life, plus she'd rather not have to deal with having to hear everyone's thoughts all the time.Vash: A tough choice, but he would ultimately go with allowing everybody to hear his own thoughts. Much like Snow, he speaks his mind enough for him to deal with the second choice. Moreover, he can't imagine he'd get much solitude and peace of mind from the first choice.Daehan: He would go with being able to hear everyone's thoughts. Annoying and probably disturbing as it may be, it gives him the opportunity to root out the bad eggs before they do something heinous. He also has a habit of hiding his feelings so having it exposed for all to hear is a bit unnerving.  ✗ The canon guard uniforms are a mess, create what you think your guard uniform should look like!

Snow: Her grandpa. When her parents were busy, she could always rely on her grandpa to be there for her. He was smart, gentle, loving, and the most important influence in her academic endeavors.

Vash: His mother. She raised him all by herself and was always strong even in the face of adversity.

Daehan: No one in particular. Because of the way he was raised, he's usually had to rely on himself rather than looking up to others. And even if he did, there was no one person he would single as as extra special.

1. Last Snow - Snow Atley, Vash Asoraka, Daehan 

Snow Atley travels to China in search of the truth surrounding her birth, but things become complicated when she witnesses something she shouldn't have. Forced to team up with an ex-convict and a mysterious private investigator, she must now choose between uncovering the truth or survival.

✗(THROW BACK QUESTION) Outfit choices in Eldarya are slim, if you could design any sort of clothing you wanted, how would  you dress your guardian?

✗ Does your guardian prefer salty, spicy, sweet, or sour foods? (@linity)

Snow: Prefers salty foods over all else (not too salty though!). She can't tolerate spicy and sour very well, and is moderately okay with sweets.

Vash: Actually has a things for sweets! He only has a mild tolerance for spicy foods, and is mostly neutral about the others.

Daehan: Loves salty, spicy foods! Not the biggest fan of sweets though.

✗What hairstyles has your Guardian had in the past, what hairstyle/cut do they have now?(@linity)

Snow: She's not very experimental with her hair. Once had a bob, fringes, and not much else. Now she has medium-length hair with side bangs. Mostly leaves it down, but also occasionally ties it into a ponytail.

Vash: Hair has always been a mess. Has had a variety of styles including long hair, crew cut, a fringe, undercut. Now it's kind of shaggy.

Daehan: Always long hair. Longest is mid-thigh length, but is now roughly shoulder-length. Sometimes ties it up in a small ponytail or bun, but not often.

✗ Is your Guardian a dog or cat person? (@linity)

Snow: She can't decide. Give her a cat, she becomes a cat person. Give her a dog, she's a dog person.

Vash: Neither. Animals hate him.

Daehan: Both! He loves ALL animals. In fact, he's mortally offended you would even make him choose.

✗ ITS EASTER IN ELDARYA! This holiday is celebrated by giving lucky clovers and chocolate eggs to your friends, who would your Guardian give presents to? How would they go about it?  LOL I can't see any of my OCs doing anything. They'll spend it like any other day. Snow might give hand out some chocolate, but she won't make a huge deal of it and will do so only if she happens to see you.

03/31/2017 Obsidian Weekly Questions

✗ What is your Guardian's native language/s? How did they cope with learning to speak Eldarian? (@DiamondDust)

Technically her first language is English, but Snow also grew up speaking Cantonese Chinese because of her mom's side of the family. Sometimes she will speak to herself in Chinese simply because she feels like using the language. Pretty soon there'll be someone she can converse to in Chinese though! (; Learning Eldarian wasn't a huge deal for her; she enjoys learning plus she already had experience learning languages on Earth. She is also making the effort to learn Eldarya's writing system.

✗What makes your Guardian cry?? (@DiamondDust)

Losing someone or something important to her, and maybe a sense of helplessness. Snow isn't an emotional person so she doesn't cry very easily. There could be more, but my mind is drawing a blank for now.

✗Did your guardian have any trouble getting up in the morning when they first arrived in Eldarya? If they did, why? (@Anyahe)

Probably not. Instead of moping in bed, Snow would have likely found something more productive to do to ease off that stress and anxiety.

She'll continue staring! xDD Since this does say writing prompt, I decided to have  a little fun with this.

Snow sat in the corner of the tavern, occasionally taking a sip from her drink. Unlike her  more raucous teammates, she was not going to allow herself to get too tipsy. Instead she found pleasure at watching her teammates make fools of themselves. Some danced atop the tables, while others sung merrily off-key. A small laugh escaped Snow's mouth at the drunken, jovial antics of the party goers. Turning her head away from the merriment, she suddenly stopped as her pale grey eyes locked on to a special someone. Neither looked away, and neither wanted to.

✗ Does your Guardian play any instruments? If they don't, which one would they like to learn to play?

No, Snow does not play any instruments, and frankly she has no desire to learn any. She prefers to listen rather than play.

Vash plays the biwa, a traditional Japanese instrument which is basically a lute. However, he hasn't played it in years and would need to put in a few weeks of practice before being able to play it like before.

Nope, she can't. Let's face it, she's just not musically talented.

Vash can sing pretty decently. Contrary to his whole being, his singing voice is actually quite calm and soothing.

✗There are two keys; both are old and rusty, and do not look special at all. One is said to be the key to immortality; the other is said to be the key to happiness.

Your Guardian is allowed to either take ONE of those keys, or refuse both and leave them for the next person. Choosing to take a key has no consequences other than that they cannot take the other key - the result of the other key may still be achieved through their own efforts. 

Take one of the old rusty keys, or refuse both... which do they choose - but, more importantly, why?

Now, if your Guardian opted to take one of the keys, they have another choice. Do they use the key for themselves, or give it to / use it for another person? Remember: There is no right or wrong answer, just answer honestly what your Guardian would do.

✗ Eldarya is a troubled world and sometimes conflicts get messy. How would your Guardian feel about being in a situation where they were ordered to kill someone? Could they do it? Why or why not?

REMINDER

I see a lot of people making their characters (on this and other games) into blood lusting warriors and assassins, even if they were formally humans on earth and I'm sitting here like HOLY HECK, WAS YOUR GUARDIAN A SERIAL KILLER BEFORE ELDARYA??? No one thinks about WHY their character would suddenly be a-ok with these actions despite coming from a world (if they are from Earth) where this behavior is punishable by pretty much every government, everywhere. I'm kind of curious to see if there is a reasoning (if there is any beyond 'assassin sounds like a cool title') behind why people chose to go that route and if any thought was given to why your characters would be willing to do these things and/or what lead them to be able to do these things. 

Feel free to go into detail about your CHARACTER. Not about anything grisly. I cannot stress this enough.

✗ What does your Guardian find attractive in a person?? Both physically and in personality?(@DiamondDust)

Physically, she prefers someone who is tall, fit (active), and hygienic. Of course, her definition of "tall" is anyone taller than her. Beyond that, she isn't too picky with looks.

Personality-wise, Snow likes someone who is calm, confident, intelligent, understanding, and patient.

✗ What is your Guardian's proudest and most embarrassing moment? (@DiamondDust)

Snow's proudest moment would have to be when she landed a spot as one of the few keynote speakers at the annual conference of the society dedicated to Chinese archaeology despite her young age and her field being almost dominated by old men. If she had made the speech, then that would have been what she could be most proud about, but she wound up in Eldarya before that happened. 

Her most embarrassing moment is probably when she was a snobby little teenager who was showing great potential in her martial arts class. She thought she was better than her peers and could skip on ahead, but her master was quick to shove that right back in her face.

Mint chocolate chip! She can be very calm and cool like mint, but get to know her good enough and she can be as sweet as chocolate.

Yes, she dreams, but it's nothing completely out of the ordinary and she rarely actually remembers it. She rarely has nightmares as well.

✗ The Refuge of El is full of kids, how would your Guardian deal with babysitting them all for a day? (@DiamondDust)

Snow is NOT here for kids. She does not like them and will never find them endearing, and no one can ever convince her otherwise. They're loud, bratty, and just plain old nuisance. She barely tolerates Mery. If she was really forced to babysit all day, Snow would likely just stay as far away from them as possible while still being able to keep an eye on them. If they become too rowdy, Snow will not hesitate to shut them down.   

✗If your Guardian had a motto or catchphrase, what would it be? (@Luxx)

✗Your Guardian is alone, and the weakest ally in your group has been captured by the bad guy. In good news, this creates an opening for your Guardian to attack and destroy the villain. If your Guardian chooses to save the ally, the bad guy escapes and is free to wreak havoc once more. Attack the villain and the ally is murdered by them right before their own defeat follows. Your Guardian then earns the hatred of those who were close to the ally as well. What does your Guardian choose to do? How do they deal with the consequences of their choice? (Remember, you can't choose both~!)

Snow will likely go for the bad guy. Sure she can let him go and save her ally, but there's no telling what other destruction the villain will continue to cause afterwards and how many others may get hurt. It's a hard decision, but it's a sacrifice Snow will make and one that she will expect her ally to make as well. She will completely understand any hatred she'll receive after the act and will even feel a bit guilty, but she probably won't regret it.

✗ “…. my friend was like Why are all these people so perfect with ZERO bodily functions or dirty habits?? THEY'RE NOT NORMAL!! so I thought maybe asking what our guardian's dirtiest habit is cause a lot of the regular habits everyone had last time were things like humming and lip chewing which is cute.” (@DiamondDust) BASICALLY: Everyone has gross habits, what is you're Guardian's?

When Snow burps, she does it loudly and unabashedly, whether in public or private. She tends not to excuse herself either. (Inspired by AU!Snow's antics from @Imogennn and @Vyxen's high school AU)

Another weird habit she's picked up since coming to Eldarya is eating sweetened eggs. She realizes it's like eating dog food on Earth, but she honestly doesn't care. It's not a regular thing though; she only eats it every once in awhile. 

✗ What alcoholic beverage best represents your guardian? (@Luxx)

LULZ I know nothing about alcohol so I'll just leave this one alone. orz

✗ What does your guardian do when they're stressed? How do they act when they're getting stressed? What does your guardian do when they have a break? (@Anyahe)

When stressed, Snow will either (1) go take a walk somewhere quiet where she won't be disturbed, or (2) do some training exercises. As for how she acts, she will have no patience for people and her face will be in a perpetual frown. Her words would be sharper than usual; everything that comes out of her mouth might just be insults or profanity.

When she has a break, she likes to run off into the library, read its vast collection of books, and annotate the heck out of it. It reminds her of  home.

    ✗ Your Guardian is a party and she's had too much to drink, how does she behave while under the influence? If she does not drink, how does she behave around all the other drunk faeries at the party? (@DiamondDust) 

She drinks quite often, but she's usually smart enough to not get too drunk. However, on the off-chance it does happen, Snow becomes a flirty, giggling mess and will get very touchy-feely. If her drunken advances are rejected, then she will just literally explode into a ball of tears and no one would be able to soothe her until she passes out.

✗ What highschool archetype would your Guardian be. Both their realistic archetype and their AU/opposite archetype? (Suggested by @Imogennn)

Snow would probably be the quiet, smart nerd who's always sitting alone at lunch studying by herself. LOL For her AU self, she'd basically be a female dude-bro: loud, obnoxious, and never serious.

 ✗ Does your guardian spend time with their companions? If they do, what sort of activities do they do with them? (Suggested by @Anyahe)

Of course! Eliot's a bit of a slow and shy Ciralak so she likes to stick to Snow's room a lot of the time. For playtime, Eliot likes it when Snow tosses a small ball back and forth for her to chase. They also like to go on little treks through the forest and along the beach every once in awhile.

Trashy historical erotica is totally her guilty pleasure! She never takes it seriously, and she finds them a fun, refreshing, and silly read.

Snow received her first kiss at the age of 22 with her now ex-fiancé. It happened on a rainy day after the two got left behind in the rural countryside. After seeking shelter together, they could no longer deny their mutual attraction. Romantic as it sounds, Snow unfortunately got sick the next day.

✗ Did your character celebrate Valentine's Day before they came to Eldarya? If so, how? If not, how do you think they would have celebrated it?

Yes, she did but it was never anything overly elaborate, just a nice dinner in an even nicer restaurant.

✗ How does your Guardian sleep? Do they cuddle a stuffed animal or pillow?

She either sleeps on her side or on her back, whichever is the most comfortable at the moment, and with a big comforter pulled all the way up to her neck. Her one thing is that she always has to be at the very edge of the bed, even if the mattress is big.

✗ What is your Guardian's idea of the perfect date?

Ideally, her perfect date would be going on a private hot air balloon ride. Not only would the view be absolutely gorgeous, but being alone up there with just her and her date would be an extremely great way to relax and really learn more about each other.

✗ A secret admirer left the perfect gift for your Guardian, what is it?

Back on Earth, Snow had a small collection of antique premodern weapons and she would have loved a new addition to it. Other than that, a great book or anything someone made themselves (even if she would never have any use for it) she would greatly appreciate.
