01/23/2017 Obsidian Weekly Questions

✗ Does your guardian have any tattoos, piercings or scars? If so, what/where are they?
No tattoos and no outrageous piercings, but she does have the typical ear piercings on the lobes. They're a simple pair of small, onyx studs. As for scars, nothing noticeable beyond the few faded ones everybody gets from childhood.

✗ If you could visit any period throughout history, which one would you chose? Why?
I love this question!! As a major history nerd, this speaks to me on a deep level. xD Like Diamond said, I would honestly go everywhere. But if I were to narrow down my choices, I'd say:
(1) the Victorian Era - very cliche but the fashion/architecture is beautiful and plus it's right around the Industrial Revolution!
(2) 15th century England - simply because I love the Wars of the Roses. It's such a messy time and I'm a messy b***** who lives for that drama!
(3) Imperial China - very vague and very large span of time, I know, but dynastic China has always been of particular interest to me. Maybe the Tang/Song or the Ming/Qing era.
(4) Republican Era in China - right after imperial China xD (at this point I might as well say all of Chinese history orz). But seeing how China transitions from empire to nation-state would be legit amazing. Qipaos are also sooo beautiful.
(5) 1950s America - another cliche. retro diners, vintage cars, drive-in movie theaters, and all that jazz
Okay, I should stop at five or else this list will literally never end. xD

01/19/2017 Obsidian Weekly Questions

✗ We all just got new bedrooms in Eldarya! QUICK, tell us what your Guardian typically wears to bed, then using the items in your inventory and your new room background, create a bedtime look for your Guardian.

✗What is your Guardian afraid of?
Snow has a deep-set fear of abandonment. The fact that she was  deliberately left behind by a lake as a baby can be quite traumatizing, even if she may not have been fully aware of it at the time. Knowing that she was likely only adopted because of her unique circumstances is rooted deep in her conscious. Believing that since she was so easily discarded by her biological parents, Snow is afraid that those close to her are just as capable of doing the same at any moment. Moreover, her adoptive parents weren't always around for her when she was a child, which further reinforced this problem. In part because of this fear, Snow tends to be quite distant until someone breaks through her shield. Once close enough, Snow can get overly affectionate with the other person, probably her subconscious way of ensuring that it will keep them around. For all her honesty, her abandonment issues is perhaps the one thing Snow cannot bring herself to publicly acknowledge.

Snow is also afraid of failure. She's lived her whole life with great expectations, especially being raised by such successful, high-achieving scholars.

01/16/2017 Obsidian Weekly Questions

✗ What flaw or personality trait does your Guardian hate the most about themselves and wish they could change? If there is none, what ability/personality trait does your Guardian wish they could improve?
For the most part, Snow is fairly confident and comfortable in her own skin. There are times, however, when Snow wishes she could read people better. Her inability to do so has gotten her into some less than favorable situations more than once, and it would be nice to avoid them if she could.

✗ Using the items in your inventory, create what you believe would be an outfit your Guardian would actually wear on a normal day in Eldarya.

01/09/2017 Obsidian Weekly Questions

✗ What was your guardian like as a child or teen?
As a child, Snow was quite well-mannered and well-behaved. She has always been more reserved than others, but in her younger days it stemmed from a sort of shyness more than anything else. Yet at the same time, she could very much be a little know-it-all. She possessed the unchecked curiosity typical of a little kid, and loved to learn just about anything and everything.

Not too much changed in her teen years. She could still be well-mannered and well-behaved, but only towards those she felt deserved it. Snow shed off that shy exterior as she gained more confidence. She was still reserved, but a different kind of reserved. For awhile, she had a snobby phase. She felt she was better and smarter than her peers and tended to have a low opinion of them. She eventually grew out of it though.

✗ If you could design any companion for the Eldarya world, what would it look like?
I don't think we have a monkey companion, yet do we? If not, definitely a monkey! xD Something like Monchan or this little peach monkey. Not as fierce as the companions @Ninnette and @Scy gave, but very much adorable! xDD

01/01/2017 Obsidian Weekly Questions

✗ Pick a quote that describes your Guardian the best.
“In a world full of polished and perfected final drafts, she was the raw and honest scribbled story.” ― Kavya Janani.U

I also liked this one:
"She wasn’t happy, but then she wasn’t unhappy. She wasn’t anything. But I don’t believe anyone is a nothing. There has to be something inside, if only to keep the skin from collapsing." - John Steinbeck

✗ What does your Guardian’s favorite place in Eldarya look like?
Her favorite place is probably HQ's library. It's the only thing that seems remotely normal and comparable to Earth with its rows upon rows of books and quiet atmosphere. Moreover, it reminds her of her days holed up in her school library. Whenever she has off time, she is likely to spend her time reading through the volumes of books and scrolls. Of course there are a large number of works she can't read at all, but with enough time she'll eventually catch on. She has designated a small, isolated corner of the library as her spot. Few people pass by, leaving it mostly undisturbed. It's also right by a large window, so there's plenty of light and provides a nice view of the outside. She even leaves a blanket on her chair for when she gets chilly. It's practically her second room.
