03/31/2017 Obsidian Weekly Questions

✗ What is your Guardian's native language/s? How did they cope with learning to speak Eldarian? (@DiamondDust)
Technically her first language is English, but Snow also grew up speaking Cantonese Chinese because of her mom's side of the family. Sometimes she will speak to herself in Chinese simply because she feels like using the language. Pretty soon there'll be someone she can converse to in Chinese though! (; Learning Eldarian wasn't a huge deal for her; she enjoys learning plus she already had experience learning languages on Earth. She is also making the effort to learn Eldarya's writing system.

✗What makes your Guardian cry?? (@DiamondDust)
Losing someone or something important to her, and maybe a sense of helplessness. Snow isn't an emotional person so she doesn't cry very easily. There could be more, but my mind is drawing a blank for now.

✗Did your guardian have any trouble getting up in the morning when they first arrived in Eldarya? If they did, why? (@Anyahe)
Probably not. Instead of moping in bed, Snow would have likely found something more productive to do to ease off that stress and anxiety.

Mini Writing Prompt
✗ Your Guardian and her crush are in a crowded tavern and their eyes meet across the room...what happens next?? (@DiamondDust)
She'll continue staring! xDD Since this does say writing prompt, I decided to have  a little fun with this.

Snow sat in the corner of the tavern, occasionally taking a sip from her drink. Unlike her  more raucous teammates, she was not going to allow herself to get too tipsy. Instead she found pleasure at watching her teammates make fools of themselves. Some danced atop the tables, while others sung merrily off-key. A small laugh escaped Snow's mouth at the drunken, jovial antics of the party goers. Turning her head away from the merriment, she suddenly stopped as her pale grey eyes locked on to a special someone. Neither looked away, and neither wanted to.

✗ Using the items in your closet, create a villainous look for your Guardian. (@Tollulu)

✗ If your Guardian was a tree or plant, what would they be and why? (@Scyanatha)
Peppermint! Cool and collected.

✗ Does your Elda wear makeup? What's their beauty regime like?

✗ What is your Guardian's zodiac sign? Do you think it suits them?

✗ Using the items in your closet, create a work-out look for your Guardian.

✗ Using the items in your closet, create a beach/bathing suit look for your Guardian.

✗Your Elda has been asked by Shadow and Absynthe to go on a mission for them...Shadow expects you to be stealthy and seduce the target so you end up alone with them and can then give them a poison from Absynthe...you don't know what your target has done or why this is the way they need to be taken out...but orders are orders. What does your Guardian do?? (the target can be any gender or none but you are expected to do all parts of the mission as it's written) (@DiamondDust)

03/19/2017 Obsidian Weekly Questions

✗ Does your Guardian play any instruments? If they don't, which one would they like to learn to play?

No, Snow does not play any instruments, and frankly she has no desire to learn any. She prefers to listen rather than play.

Vash plays the biwa, a traditional Japanese instrument which is basically a lute. However, he hasn't played it in years and would need to put in a few weeks of practice before being able to play it like before.

✗ What is your Guardian's theme song?

✗ What existing battle theme, or intense instrumental song, would suit your Guardian or other OCs? (@GiggledustJedi) I take this to mean "What is your Guardian's battle theme?"

✗ Does your Guardian have a favorite song or type of music?
Dream pop!

✗ Can your Guardian sing?

Nope, she can't. Let's face it, she's just not musically talented.

Vash can sing pretty decently. Contrary to his whole being, his singing voice is actually quite calm and soothing.

✗There are two keys; both are old and rusty, and do not look special at all. One is said to be the key to immortality; the other is said to be the key to happiness.
Your Guardian is allowed to either take ONE of those keys, or refuse both and leave them for the next person. Choosing to take a key has no consequences other than that they cannot take the other key - the result of the other key may still be achieved through their own efforts.

Take one of the old rusty keys, or refuse both... which do they choose - but, more importantly, why?

Now, if your Guardian opted to take one of the keys, they have another choice. Do they use the key for themselves, or give it to / use it for another person? Remember: There is no right or wrong answer, just answer honestly what your Guardian would do.

NOTE: The following question was pre-approved by @JR to be posted on the forums. I would like to remind everyone that posting anything graphic about death itself is NOT allowed and also not what this question is asking for.

✗ Eldarya is a troubled world and sometimes conflicts get messy. How would your Guardian feel about being in a situation where they were ordered to kill someone? Could they do it? Why or why not?

>>What if the person to eliminate didn't know your Guardian was there?

>>What if the person to eliminate did know your Guardian was there and was begging/crying for mercy.

>>What if the person to eliminate is responsible for horrible actions, but is still in front of you and begging for mercy.

>>What if your Guardian doesn't even know what the person did. Sometimes orders are given on a need-to-know basis. Your character might have been told that El needed so-and-so eliminated, but not why.

REMINDER
I am not asking for details about the situation, but rather how your character would FEEL/REACT to it.

I am not asking about a situation where self-defense or defense of a friend/loved one is involved. Everyone would chose "Yes" to that.

I see a lot of people making their characters (on this and other games) into blood lusting warriors and assassins, even if they were formally humans on earth and I'm sitting here like HOLY HECK, WAS YOUR GUARDIAN A SERIAL KILLER BEFORE ELDARYA??? No one thinks about WHY their character would suddenly be a-ok with these actions despite coming from a world (if they are from Earth) where this behavior is punishable by pretty much every government, everywhere. I'm kind of curious to see if there is a reasoning (if there is any beyond 'assassin sounds like a cool title') behind why people chose to go that route and if any thought was given to why your characters would be willing to do these things and/or what lead them to be able to do these things.
Feel free to go into detail about your CHARACTER. Not about anything grisly. I cannot stress this enough.

If you are unsure about whether or not your answer would fit within forum guidelines, PM it to me. It helps to have a second set of eyes sometimes.

03/12/2017 Obsidian Weekly Questions

✗ What does your Guardian find attractive in a person?? Both physically and in personality?(@DiamondDust)
Physically, she prefers someone who is tall, fit (active), and hygienic. Of course, her definition of "tall" is anyone taller than her. Beyond that, she isn't too picky with looks.

Personality-wise, Snow likes someone who is calm, confident, intelligent, understanding, and patient.
✗ What is your Guardian's proudest and most embarrassing moment? (@DiamondDust)
Snow's proudest moment would have to be when she landed a spot as one of the few keynote speakers at the annual conference of the society dedicated to Chinese archaeology despite her young age and her field being almost dominated by old men. If she had made the speech, then that would have been what she could be most proud about, but she wound up in Eldarya before that happened.

Her most embarrassing moment is probably when she was a snobby little teenager who was showing great potential in her martial arts class. She thought she was better than her peers and could skip on ahead, but her master was quick to shove that right back in her face.
✗ If your Guardian was a flavor of ice cream, what flavor would they be and why?(@DiamondDust)
Mint chocolate chip! She can be very calm and cool like mint, but get to know her good enough and she can be as sweet as chocolate.

✗ Now let's see an uglier side of your Guardian, shall we? Your Guardian has done something to hurt the person they care most about! Tell us all about it! It could be a friend, relative, lover, or etc. (Remember that the action CANNOT be accidental, your Guardian must choose to do the Bad Thing)

Personality Traits:
Critical, Overly honest to the point of insensitivity, Does not hold back, Unsympathetic, Aggressive

Motivation:

Loved one and hurtful action:

Consequences:

03/05/2017 Obisidian Weekly Questions

✗ What is your Guardian's Moral Alignment and why? (@GiggledustJedi)
http://easydamus.com/alignment.htmlLawful NeutralA lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs her. Order and organization are paramount to her. She may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or she may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government.Took the quiz and this is where Snow ended up.
✗According to Dungeons and Dragons, what would your Guardian's Principal Base Class be and why? (@GiggledustJedi)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Character_class_(Dungeons_%26_Dragons)#Principal_base_classesEither a monk or a fighter. Monk because she is primarily a martial artist, but fighter because she is capable of using a variety of weapons if need be.
✗Does your guardian dream? If they do, what do they dream about?(@Anyahe)
Yes, she dreams, but it's nothing completely out of the ordinary and she rarely actually remembers it. She rarely has nightmares as well.

BONUS CHALLENGES
✗ You and your team are sent to a far off kingdom to protect the royal family from a possible assassination attempt. On the night of the most important holiday of the nation, you find yourself alone and find out that the royal family and many important people are in danger of being poisoned. At the same time, there is a plot to unleash a massive dragon (or any other extremely dangerous creature of your choosing) on the general populace. If your Guardian chooses to save the royals, hundreds of innocent civilians will die and any chance of gaining an alliance with this and several other nations go out the window. Choose to fight off the creature, the royal family dies and the nation and its neighbors are thrown into intense political turmoil which may very well last for decades. What does your Guardian do and how do they deal with the following consequences? Remember you CANNOT choose both.
